Experienced Structural Engineers

We are offering an exciting opportunity for experienced Structural Engineers to join our friendly and professional team, taking a lead role on the structural design on a range of projects. Workload varies from small domestic alterations to large commercial new build and refurbishments. The role would also include undertaking structural inspections and provision of written reports and remedial recommendations.

The role would include:

  • Supporting the directors

  • Taking the lead role on the technical engineering design of projects

  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Assist in the day to day management of engineers and technicians

  • Liaising with clients, architects and external design team members to ensure efficient and integrated structural solutions are achieved

  • Carrying out structural surveys, feasibility studies and site inspections.

  • Attending DTMs and progress meetings as project engineer

  • Ensuring Health & Safety is considered at all stages of the design process to ensure designs produced minimise risk during construction

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the preparation of structural design of refurbishment, structural modification and new build projects, covering common building materials

  • A commercial awareness and ability to deliver high quality, detailed and creative designs, and think outside the box

  • The ability to check design calculations, drawings and specifications

  • Be able to undertake structural inspections and have the ability to present reports, ideas and designs confidently and fluently, and to a high standard to internal and external audiences

  • Ability to show experience of working with British Standards and Eurocodes

  • Have good planning, organisation and time management skills in order to balance tasks and prioritise to meet project deadlines

  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the following design software package, MaserSeries, TEDDS, NBS

  • A good knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage

  • An interest in pursuing sustainable, economic and practical design solutions to meet sustainability targets

We are offering:

  • Competitive salary in the region of £40,000 - £60,000 however negotiable subject to experience
