Structural/Civil CAD Technician
We are seeking an experienced and ideally qualified Structural/Civil CAD Technician to join our well-established and growing Structural and Civil Engineering consultancy based in Salfords, Surrey.
In this role, you will play an active part in project delivery, including producing detailed drawings, attending meetings and site visits, and liaising directly with design teams. Our projects range from small domestic alterations to large-scale commercial new builds and refurbishments for both residential and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce CAD drawings from received information in CAD and PDF formats.

Develop drawings based on engineers’ sketches and calculations.

Work closely with project engineers and design team members to ensure coordinated information packages.

Contribute to providing innovative solutions to design challenges.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Essential Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a structural technician within a UK-based design consultancy.

Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is advantageous but not essential.

Strong understanding of building structures and external works.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Skilled in producing clear, accurate drawings to a high standard.

Experience in creating general arrangement drawings and details in major structural materials (concrete, steel, civil works) is desirable.

Competent in developing plans, sections, and construction details with clear technical content.

IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and ability to work collaboratively.

Effective planning, organisation, and time management skills to balance priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to carry out site inspections and attend meetings on behalf of the company.

Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
